I began writing erotica while I lived in New Orleans, working as a burlesque dancer on Bourbon Street.

I’ve always had a fascination with the erotic. I love being nude, and freedom is one of my motivating reasons in life. Liberation, freedom, and natural sensuality. Isn’t nudity liberating? An expression of being unfettered, unencumbered, without being contained in some fabric (although I do love sexy panties and stockings). So being a nude dancer was the perfect job for me.

As an artist/painter, writer/poet, chef/gourmand, and mother of three, creativity is bursting. I’m always full of inspiration. A sensualist approach to life is something that I live. It’s not always easy, so don’t think that I’m lolling around full of fantasies all day and getting a full night’s sleep. I love going to local farmers markets, filling my basket with fresh fruits and vegetables (alright, some almond croissants too) taking in all scents, colors, temperature, and feeling sensual. As a mother of three young children, it isn’t something I feel daily. All the more reason to break free of the mundane and be a sensualist. What inspires me about being a sensualist is the ever present chance to experience something fully. It’s not about slathering oneself in creme brulee and asking your partner to lick it all off, but there is some merit to that. Worth a try.

The concept of Erotica du Jour is to bring the erotic alive in everyday life, to infuse art and passion into the sensual word and image. I would like to include some of my erotica, other findings like erotica blogs and writers that I like, websites I find exceptional and admire, photography that is beautiful, and anything delicious. It’s all hand-picked musings, articles, and the like.
